I’ve been using Sublime de Chanel waterproof mascara for the last two months and have to say that I quite like it. Chanel claims that this mascara can give your lashes infinite length and curl, and describe it as: “An innovative, precious mascara for every-day wear, Sublime de Chanel expresses a timeless and ideal vision of femininity down to the tips of the lashes”. Quite a mouthful as always from Chanel… and not exactly all true in my opinion. I would agree that Sublime de Chanel is definitely a mascara for a subtle, day look. It offers some length and a bit of curl (not to much on my heavy lashes) but nothing amazing. What it does very well however, is definition! The brush is very good. It combs the lashes well, separating them and applying just the right amount of product without clumping. The application is super quick, easy and mess free, which is what I really appreciate in any mascara.
Chanel claims that this mascara helps to condition your lashes as it contains “a pro-vitamin cocktail with antioxidant properties that maintains the suppleness and shine of lashes and protects them from environmental stress”. I haven’t noticed any difference to my lashes after two months so cannot really vouch for that.
If you’re looking for a luxurious, subtle and defining mascara for a day wear give it a go If you’re after a more dramatic, lashy look try something else. Sublime de Chanel retails for a steep £24. You can buy it at Boots.
